Family outing destination for kids

The Gulliver's Land Theme Park Resort in Milton Keynes, England, is a popular family destination designed specifically for children aged 2 to 13. The leisure park, opened in 1999, is the third in the Gulliver's chain - alongside Gulliver's World in Warrington and Gulliver's Kingdom in Matlock Bath - and has established itself as a staple in the Midlands' leisure landscape. Inspired by the adventures of Gulliver from Jonathan Swift's famous novel, the resort offers a colorful mix of classic rides, interactive attractions, and themed experiences tailored to the needs of young families. What sets Gulliver's Land apart is its family-friendly focus, evident in the fact that only families with children are admitted - groups of adults without children are not allowed.

Thematic accommodations for families

The park is divided into different themed areas, each with its own charm. "Adventure World" entices with thrilling rides like the "Dragon Siege," a spinning pendulum considered one of the most intense experiences in the park. "Lilliput Land" tells Gulliver's travel story in a dark ride, immersing the youngest visitors in an imaginative world. "Western World" transports guests to the Wild West with attractions such as a log flume and the "Runaway Train," a small roller coaster adventure. Since 2017, the "JCB Zone" has been added, a partnership with the construction equipment manufacturer JCB, giving children the chance to feel like little builders - with attractions like the "Crazy Crane," a drop tower, and interactive diggers. Despite the thematic variety, the park remains manageable, allowing families to enjoy a full day of fun without feeling overwhelmed.

Interactive attractions for children

In addition to the main park, the resort includes additional attractions that complement the experience. The "Dinosaur and Farm Park" is a standalone area adjacent to the park, captivating visitors with life-sized animatronic dinosaurs and a farm with real animals like goats and sheep. The "Splash Zone" is an indoor water paradise without standing water, but with cannons, sprayers, and a giant tipping bucket - since 2017 supplemented by three water slides for older children. For action enthusiasts, there is the "Blast Arena," an interactive laser game where teams compete against each other, and "The SFEAR," a tall drop tower with a spectacular view over the park and surrounding area. This variety makes Gulliver's Land a place that caters to every taste.

Theme park with family-friendly focus

Another highlight of the resort is the opportunity to combine the visit with an overnight stay. The "Adventurers Village" offers a selection of themed accommodations such as safari tents, Western lodges with hot tubs, dinosaur caves, or simple campsites. These options make Gulliver's Land not only a day trip destination but also a place for short family getaways. The accommodations are practical and family-friendly, with some even being wheelchair accessible, increasing accessibility. Dining options are provided on-site, ranging from simple snacks to hot meals, although the quality and cleanliness of the dining areas are occasionally rated differently.

Overnight options at theme park

Gulliver's Land places great emphasis on providing a safe and friendly environment. The staff are known for their helpfulness, and the park is designed so that young children can play and explore everywhere without parents constantly worrying. There are numerous play areas, soft play zones, and quieter corners to meet the needs of younger guests. While the park may not offer the size or thrills of major theme parks like Alton Towers, it excels in its compact structure and the variety of activities that can fill a day. Particularly in the summer months and during seasonal events like Halloween or Christmas, additional attractions and shows are added to enhance the experience.

We went today with two children 7 & ,5. It's our third visit. They both loved it here. Excited from the time we arrived until we left. It was brilliant that they could ride everything and the soft play and diggers and playgrounds are great for down time. There's lots of picnic tables and concessions . Never long lines. The distances are very manageable for kids and there are even a couple small roller coasters. Usually you leave these places grumpy but everyone left happy. Staff at all the rides are lovely.

Amazing day out with a 6 year old who absolutely loved it ! Took a picnic as plenty of places to sit …. Rides perfect for little kids and the whole place was clean , staff really fun and took pride in their jobs … We didn’t want to go home as it really was a perfect place for a 6 year old and well worth the money …

Think of a little person's Alton towers. A bit old and tired but good fun for the little ones. Can take your own food.

It was really empty so great for lack of queues and getting to go on things multiple times.... but so much was broken, tired and run down. Definitely won't be coming back in a hurry - needs some major investment and TLC! Stuck in the past!

It has a lot of fun rides and short queus. The rides are relaxing but quite fun and it is amazing for younger kids. There is even a princess castle which makes young kids very happy. It is great for people with little patience as you don't have to wait around for very long and it is a magical place for young kids

Booked a short break. The included food is a joke. The tables will have the cutlery upside down inside a cup so when you grab a fork you end touching all the other cutlery. The bed makes noise when you move so you hear when the kids change sides. The kids mattress is so hard that my kids couldn’t sleep. Shower is on combined with the toilet, so when you end up having a showers whoever goes in next get their feet wet. If you have been to Lego land you will be disappointed with the rides. They are too short for the amount of time you queued.

We stayed here yesterday for my son’s birthday. The accommodation could have been cleaner. As I’d seen reviews saying the same I contacted guest services online chat before we arrived to ask about the level of cleaning. I was told that I needed to put a special request in if I wanted the accommodation to be thoroughly cleaned. I personally found this a bit strange. Once at the resort we found the staff to be really helpful and friendly. The kids enjoyed the evening activities which were laid on. However I think the milk and 1 cookie could have been a bit more exciting. The Cookie Monster stayed for about 2 minutes. Once in the park the next day we all had a great time. A lot of the kiosks didn’t open until a lot later than the park which was a bit annoying. One negative was that non of the cafe/food outlets sold decafe tea or coffee. There was also no milk alternatives on offer such as soya or oat milk which in this day and age is a bit old fashioned.

Great day out for kids. No waiting for rides. Would advise to take own food as quite pricey

Very run down, most rides no better than fair ground rides, no alternative dietary options, rides kept together by tape. Most staff were pleasant which was only thing going for it really.

Few rides were broken in JCB zone or inoperable. This was quite disappointing for my son. The small track go cart cars were £2.50 a ride; this can be lower priced or allow a little longer time for the price. Staff was very kind to let people have a last ride till last minute of closure time. This is very appreciated.

Superb value for money. We have had the best day ever for £34 (£17 each). I thought we would be in and out in an hour given all of the recent reviews but no, we were there 1100 - 1600! The weather was beautiful, plenty of fun rides (with little to no queues), lots of cheery staff (they employ a diverse range of staff too) and very neat and tidy. The fresh stone baked pizza (£13) was particularly delicious. It's true the park looks a bit dated but there are a lot of real plant shoots which should bloom shortly plus they've cleverly used artificial flowers in hanging baskets for the Winter season to make the place look inviting. Plenty of clean and warm toilets. Safety appeared to be taken very seriously with staff managing any risk very well. The park advertised as closing at 4pm but unlike all other theme parks they don't stop rides 15 minutes before and in fact anyone who joined the queue until 4pm was honoured with their turn which meant rides were still going well after 4pm. Finally, the punters as we all know the power of the people: epic fellow visitors today, who made the day so great and felt so safe. No Insta brigade in, gob shi*es, or chain vapers wondering around always makes it so much more pleasant. Great atmosphere and would highly recommend for a great value day out! There's Costa coffee (£3.75 for a cappuccino) which was quite pleasant.

Very tired and run down. A lot of rides were falling apart and covered in black tape!!! Rides were closed and half the diggers didn't even work. I have a milk allergy and they don't offer any alternative milk so couldn't even get a hot drink to warm up on a very cold and wet day. Ordered 2 pizzas which were black and burnt. Also ordered a hot dog which was literally a dog in a plain bun. No sauce, mustard, onions etc for £11! I would avoid and go somewhere else.
